John Neamontis, 76, Malvern Red Cross patient transport service,
drives people to essential medical appointments.
"EVERY WEEK I DRIVE PEOPLE TO HOSPITAL AT NO CHARGE AND WAIT FOR THEM UNTIL THEIR APPOINTMENT IS OVER, FROM YOUNG KIDS TO THE ELDERLY.
"OUR COMMUNITY NEEDS HELP AND THESE PEOPLE MIGHT LIVE ALONE OR HAVE NO OTHER WAY OF GETTING THERE.
"THIS WILL BE MY 20TH YEAR WITH THE RED CROSS." I AM A MIGRANT. I CAME TO AUSTRALIA IN 1955, AND THIS COUNTRY HAS OFFERED ME SO MUCH.
"SO I DECIDED TO GIVE SOMETHING BACK!"
